This is going to be a update to a post I did a few days ago, “Run ffmpeg On Mac Without Compiling Anything”. I did get some good and skeptic response. They solution I posted does indeed work, but it’s a very old binary and you don’t get ffplay, ffserver etc. And a nice fella posted a comment telling me just that, and I appreciate that :) Continue reading UPDATE: Run ffmpeg On Mac Without Compiling Anything
I have no idea what that means but what I am trying to say is, I’m using Ubuntu again! Ubuntu 10.04 to be exact, And it feels good to be back! Hi Ubuntu, long time no see!
I noticed something the other day about Safari 5, There apparently is a new update available! 5.0.1 to be exact. And the best part is that it seems that this update has fixed the high memory usage, hurray!! So if you are having trouble with high memory usage in Safari 5, just update it! I’m not making any promises though, this is what I have experienced, your result might be different. Anyway, it’s nice to see that my favorite browser on Mac is finally working as it should again.
As you probably know, the new Safari 5 has been released, and of course you have upgraded like i have. However I have noticed something really strange about that wasn’t in Safari 4 or 3, It can sometimes hang up, for quite a while. So I decided to check the Macintosh process manager to see if it was hoging the CPU, that’s what i thought, but no, IT HAD TAKEN UP FREAKIN’ 2.5 GB OF MEMORY!!
I really hope Apple will fix this bug or whatever it’s called, cause i really like Safari, it’s the only Mac web browser that I know of that runs 64-bit and it’s really fast to, fast browsing, fast booting.
