As you probably know, I am currently using the Mozilla Firefox 4 beta and at the time I am typing this I am using beta 4. I’m not sure if it is a new feature added, but I have noticed some new stuff in the tools menu that wasn’t in Mozilla Firefox 3, and one of those objectwhere “Inspect” and it works just like in the add-on “Firebug“, just open it up and point your cursor to where you want to inspect. The small but annoying thing about it is that I can’t copy any of the links that it finds, bummer…

Anyway, I find this really useful and i hope the Mozilla team of developers will add more features to it in future releases.

Yeah, are you using the latest Mozilla Firefox beta? If not, then i highly recommend you to give it a try, sure it has a few bugs here and there, but it is a BETA. And it’s also a great opportunity to give Mozilla some feedback! It’s really easy to leave feedback too, just click the “Feedback” button in the top right corner and chose either if there is something that made you “Happy” or made you “Sad”. And don’t forget to fill out the user studies and check the “Send data automatically” in the settings!

From time to time, you may need to run a Windows app or two on your Mac or Linux computer, almost all of the famous Windows apps can be run with Wine. However, you always have to compile the damn thing! But recently, I have found a package for Mac that includes the latest stable Wine binary, no compiling necessary! And the package is called “PlayOnMac”, it’s sort of a little brother of the much bigger package for Linux called “PlayOnLinux“.

You can download PlayOnMac by Clicking Here, Download and install it.

Now, i’ll show you how you can run a Windows executable with it. If it is and installation executable then you can simply double click it and the PlayOnMac wizard will pop up to help you. But our goal here is to run wine from the console, just as if you had compiled it.

1. Launch PlayOnMac
2. Click “Tools” on the top menu bar
3. Click “PlayOnMac Console”

And there you go! Now all you have to do is change to your desired directory and type: wine “windows exe”

So you have just found a great article online that requiers you to have access to the Mac OS X terminal, but where is it? No worries, i’ll show you.

1. Open “Finder”



2. Open “Applications”



3. Open “Utilities”
4. And finally, open “Terminal”

There are several reasons you might want to use OpenDNS, the biggest two I use it is for speed and security, here I will show you how you can set it up on your Mac:

1. Open system preferences and click “Network”



2. Select your network interface and then click on “Advanced”. If you don’t know what network interface you are using, then it’s the one with a green circle next to it, in my case “AirPort”



3. Once in advanced click the “DNS” tab



4. Finally, add the following IP,s: 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220

There might be several reasons you might want to backup your bookmarks in Safari, first of course to back them up or move them to another Mac. Some steps in this tutorial might seem complicated at first, but trust me, it’s really simple.

1. Open up finder and double click on the folder named “Library”
2. Next, double click the folder named “Safari”



3. Locate the file named “Bookmarks.plist” and copy it to your desired location.
